Villa Planina

In March 2011 we hosted Simon Yeend, a journalist from the Uk's Sunday Express newspaper at Villa Planina and showed him around some of the area's ski resorts and restaurants. He had a great time and wrote about his experience with us here:

The stay was very nice. We liked the interior of the villa and it was exactly as in the pictures. The villa is beautiful and the sights around are incredible! The kids skied in Kranjska Gora. We went shopping to Tarvisio and went to Planica. Also we enjoyed the Surc and Gostilna. Thank you for the tip to make reservations. We enjoyed the games room also. The quiet and the village sights were outstanding. Thank you again for everithing. We hope we wil go back to Villa Planina next year and told about it to our friends so we might not come alone.

A massively delayed response to say that Florence and I had a magnificent week at Villa Planina. Pia was exceptionally helpful right down to reorganising rafting for us when we succumbed to holiday induced amnesia and forgot what day of the week it was and missed it! One of the highlights of our travels was out visit to Slovenia. In particular, we loved our stay in Villa Planina. Well priced (we were out of the high season), well equipped with modern appliances, very tidy and perfectly located for what we wanted to do and see. And your managers always on hand to assist with any problems or queries.I can assure you that we would be happy to stay there again and will definitely recommend the place to others. I can only say the best about our stay in Villa Planina. We really enjoyed the location, view and the garden related to the lower apartment. The apartments are comfortable and well equipped nothing really missing. I would like to highlight that the managers were really friendly and supportive and helped us enjoy the stay.

All the locals in the village were really friendly - especially the restaurant staff - we tried each restaurant. It's a great base for touring around Slovenia, Italy and Austria and we found some spectacular walks. All in all a fantastic trip and we are already recommending to others.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Slovenia and the skiing was fantastic in Kranjska Gora. Our accommodation at Villa Planina was also excelletn and the unit was very well equipped. There were a few lights not working but other than that everything was great and you were there everytime we needed you. I'm sure we'll be back in the future!

The appartments were lovely, nicely furnished, good beds and bedding and loads of hot water. So we felt really well looked after. Loved your personal recommendations and returned to the pizza place in KG a second time. Delish!

Villa Planina made our stay at Kranjska Gora wonderful. The apartment was quite spacious, and it had all that was needed for a comfortable stay. The booking is easy, and the people who are responsible for your welcome and for your needs while you are there are always available. The location of the Villa is excellent, easy to find and the village it is located in is near several ski resorts. We warmly recommend Vila Planina if you ever come across a vacation in Kranjska Gora

We really enjoyed our stay at Villa Planina and we will certainly recommend the place, if someone, we know, is coming to Slovenia/Kranjska Gora. Actually the place was even better than we thought, so tidy, everything was working without problems, the location was ideal (easy to get to even without an own car) and the view - wow! I can only envy people living in a place like that. All in all we liked our stay in Slovenia that much, we really hope we can visit the country again.

The ground floor apartment of Villa Planina is a very nice well equipped apartment where you can stay.... The property was very clean, brand new and very practical. The view around is indeed superb.

In the village are different restaurants, were you can eat very well and not expensive at all.

Slovenia is a wonderful nice country, very divers, and the apartment was a success.

The service was excellent. Every detail can be arranged by mail. Responses are fast an accurate. The holiday in Slovenia was a success, and my wife and I have decided already; when possible we will once come back.

Wonderful place to pass your hollidays.. grate time... near the best ski center of Kranjska Gora.. Near to Tarvisio.. Near to Villach... great places to wisit arround during the day, sleaping always at the same place... lot of fun.. relaxing and very clean place... So kind people... I had so great time only in Villa Planina in Ratece, easy to reach, great to stay in..

Great for everyone on a short or long break!

This place is great! The apartment is in really good condition (recently finished?), very clean and lovely and warm on arrival. Fully equipped kitchen, washing machine, table tennis - everything you need for a great time away. We only stayed two nights, but we would have loved to stay longer!

Great for winter holidays - main ski field Kranjska Gora 10 minute drive down the road. Loads of cross country skiing to be had right out the front door.

Incredibly close to the border of Italy (700mtrs), and a short drive up to Austria, meaning you can drive through 3 countries in under an hour!

Just off the main road in a lovely little village, we'd love to go back to see what the place looks like when its not covered in snow. Would recommend to everyone wanting to do their own thing. Rating – 5 / 5

I'm happy we did not let the bad Begrade weather stop us from visit Slovenia. The snow was very local to Belgrade with sourroundings so the drive was easy. We had a fantastic stay in Villa Planina and a lovely ski weekend. Thanks for all help! Hope to see you again next year.

Villa Nebina

We enjoyed very much our stay in Villa Nebina. The apartment is spacious, well furnished and has a very nice view. We particularly liked the fact that there was a dishwasher in the kitchen, which is unfortunately not the case in many similar apartments in Slovenia. Our three year old daughter appreciated the large living room that she could play in. In any case we are definitiely planning to come back.

Everything was superb. The managers were enormously helpful and welcoming; as was everyone in Ratece. We can’t speak highly enough of their friendliness and hospitality. I just wish they weren’t quite so good at darts. The local pub was the scene of repeated humiliation for us that even mighty Zlatorog and his Lasko couldn’t numb. The walking around Kranjska Gora and Vrsic was astonishingly good and we loved Ljubljana too. I’ll be recommending it to the hilt and hope to come back soon. Thanks again for your help in organising

We had a group of 12 stay here and had a wonderful time. We took 3 of the apartments in the house and it fit everyone just right. This area is so beautiful with so much to do close by and within a few hours drive. We took several day trips to neighboring countries and explored the area around the town. The ski jump in Planica and the summer toboggan run in Kranjska Gora was really close as was Lake Bled for a fun day trip. Everything in the apartments was very clean and in good condition. We all wished we could have stayed longer! We had good communication before we arrived with the owner and the housekeeper was very friendly and was waiting for us when we arrived. I would highly recommend a trip to this area of Slovenia in summer or winter.

We wanted to thank you again for everything. We had a very good and comfortable time in Villa Nebina. We liked very much the interior and how everything was equipped, everything necessary seemed to be there. The mattresses of the beds seemed to be of a 5 star hotel so comfortable they were. And we also learned it is much better to stay at Ratece than in Kranjska Gora, becuase its more pure, more real, less turistic. And the people were very friendly. We loved it.

On behalf of myself and all my friends I wish to thank both you for a fantastic stay at Villa Nebina. We were very impressed with the standard of the accomodation and the location was perfect. Ratece is a beautiful village and was very picturesque in the snow! We also enjoyed many a night in the local pub and restaurants where food and drink alike was thoroughly enjoyed. I think we may have also and made some great friends from the area!!! For some of us it was our first time skiing so the lessons were greatly appreciated and enjoyed. This is a welcome chance to tell you how much we enjoyed our stay in the Nebina flat - it is spacious, comfortable and well equiped. The village is a delight and the views terrific. Two suggestions. A small rack in the shower for soap etc. A light or lamp positioned behing the sofa in the sitting room for reading etc. Best wishes - Jim

Villa Nebina perfectly fitted our requirements. The apartment was spacious enough for us all to sit together to eat and the opportunity to have the additional room upstairs for the bigger boys made it very comfortable. The house and village were very safe and close by to plenty of activities for our wide range of ages children (6 to 16 years). The local shop and restaurant served us well and we will definitely be returning next year.

The process of booking the apartment with you was excellent - no problems - payment from UK was easy and we got a quick response from you with our e-mail queries. The infomration booklet was also very useful.

The apartment at Villa Nebina was v. clean / tidy and well fitted out.

This was our first visit to Slovenia. We found everyone we had contact with to be helpful and friendly, both in connection with the apartment itself and generally whilst out and about. Our experience of Slovenia was excellent and we will definitely return again.
